Happy New Year

New Years! Hello to everyone out there.

I welcome you to my first real Blog, and the first Blog of the new year.

Since this is the first blog of the new year, and it is the first blog about crafting, I thought it would be fun to do a new years craft.

So, there is my first craft ever on my blog.

And they are money envelopes for Chinese New year. For Chinese new year, you give envelopes with money in it for good will. From what I understand, three is a lucky number so you either put in three bills or coins. You can also hand it over a doorway and it is said to bring more money into the household.I found a link with more information about it here.

I thought these were really fun, and really easy to make, taking only about 15 minutes to do so.

New Year Envelopes

What I used:
Paper, Red is the best
Glue stick
Paper Punch
Scissor
Paper tape

Steps:
1)I made a pattern, which is what the white things in the photograph is. There is nothing really special about it, I just made it off an envelope that I had floating around. You can use any pattern you want.
2)Outline and cut out you base, gluing the side and bottom close. Let Dry
3)Take the envelope and decorate. I wanted to keep with the Asian theme on one and then went with a cupcake and star theme for the second.

They are just fun and you could just use them for anything. Give them out for Christmas gift cards or birthdays, it is
really up to you. You could also do any color you want!

There are some more shots of the finnished ones:

Have Fun! Kasey.
